I wanted to write this down, in case I don't survive. In case the rain does stop and anyone is left alive, anyone interested in my story.
One day the rain started. It went on incessantly for 24 hours. A second moon appeared. Weird shit, no?
A week later the rain still went on, followed by massive earthquakes that shook the planet to its core. Panic erupted globally, with looting and thieving among the least severe of the crimes committed. In the U.S. the military responded with blockades and shelters, doing their best to protect the innocent and apprehend the criminals.
Then the world's population all shit their pants in unison when the depths of the sea poured out what had long been hidden. Large creatures resembling something out of a Lovecraft tale roamed the waters. They were stuck to the coasts, but only for a matter of time as the water rose. Things were beginning to look bleak for the human race. Anyone on a ship that wasn't equipped for war went down quick, and even the military ships slowly began to crumble under the attack of the monstrous beings.
No one knew where it began, but on the East Coast a creature shot black tar at bystanders near the water. The victims fell to the ground and convulsed, dying. Their bodies rose soon thereafter. At least that is what I read online before the Internet stopped working.
So, on top of giant fucking sea monsters just waiting for the waters to close in, a zombie apocalypse had started as well. I haven't seen a zombie yet, but it isn't too far-fetched the way things are now.
Fantastic times for the human race.
My name is Theodore Ermine. My friends call me Ted. Hopefully if you are reading this, I handed you the copy so you could read what I didn't want to relive. Otherwise . . . I'm either dead weight at the bottom of the ocean or a mindless fucking ghoul trying to rend your flesh.
Just a random idea I had. If no one is interested, that is cool. I stick to freeform because I don't have the time to setup and control stats, rolls, etc. If someone is interested in writing together in an apocalyptic world like this, let me know.
I don't intend for it to be diary/first person based. That was what worked for how the concept fit in my head at the moment.
