Name: Francis ‘Frank’ Daly
Height: 6’ 4”
Hair: Black w/ streaks of silver
Birthplace: New York City, New York
The son of an Irish immigrant who's raised in the crowded ghetto's of New York City. Born in the late 30's he's too young to join the war, so instead he fights in the street wars between Irish mobs and Italian mafia. His mother left with his baby sister when he was about 6, running off to join the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Two months prior to his 18th birthday in 1956, his father died of lung cancer, leaving him with only the mob as his family, this was already shaking apart. Cutting his losses, he follows after his mother and travels West in the hopes of finding a good meal, steady job, and maybe his family.
Using what small inheritance he received from his father, Francis left New York on a train, his meager belongings tucked inside a ratty old knapsack. Upon arriving in Hollywood, he bought a small ratty motel room and sought out the first job he could find, eventually finding work as a bouncer for The Crystal Lounge, a popular dive for up and coming producers, actors, and entrepreneurs.
Having lived in the crowded streets of New York City for most of his life, Francis took every opportunity he could to travel out into the surrounding wilderness. He saw himself as the city boy turned survivalist, spending his days camping and hiking, and his nights guarding the secrets of the rich and soon to be rich. Of course, spending years standing outside the doors of rising stars and directors allowed Francis to pick up plenty of dirty little secrets.
He used the money from the extortion and blackmail to fund his trips into the wilderness, equipping himself with the latest technology and weaponry so he could traverse the forests and plains of California. The remaining money was used for the purchase of a small apartment and hiring a P.I. to search for his mother and sister. By 1969 Francis was running out of luck. His blackmail had cost him his job at The Crystal Lounge, and his private detective had no luck finding his family, despite near constant funding. He was running low on money and hope, when, while traveling on one of his fewer and fewer hiking trips, he ran into a tour guide for a new company called Adventure Time Travel Agency.
Realizing his experience could come in handy, Francis applied for and was hired by ATTA as a tour guide, leading dozens of tours through terrain that he’d been traveling for almost a decade. His laidback ability to manage his flock, as well as keep his co-workers from fighting amongst each other was noticed over time, and by 1971 he was transferred from the tour department and into management, learning how the company was held together, and then using the knowledge to keep the inner cogs from seizing.
He regretted not being paid to do what he loved, but enjoyed being paid a lot more to care about it. Management took notice of his determination and ability to coordinate efforts and promoted him up the ranks, eventually to where he attained the position of General Manager in 1977. He now handles most of the background elements of the company, ensuring that the other parts of the company mesh well and don’t create any issues. His job has prevented him from visiting the desert and the forests as much as he once did, which is why he always finds the company retreats a pleasure.
Appearance: Well built with defined muscles, despite his age. He stands with his back straight and an easygoing smile on his face. He keeps a well trimmed beard which is a mix of black and silver hair.
Other Physical Characteristics: scar tissue from a bullet wound sustained during his mob days on his left shoulder.
Clothing: When he’s in the office Frank wears expensive suits, slacks, and shoes polished to a shine. He often has a large gold watch adorning his right wrist, and keeps a small cross around his neck at all times.
Dressed casually, he wears plaid long-sleeved shirts and tan slacks. He keeps his cross on him, but trades the expensive watch for a more durable brand with a leather strap. He often will wear sneakers if at all possible, but prefers his hiking boots for when he travels.
Personality: Frank is a pleasant man, despite his rocky start in life. He voices his opinions straight off the bat, and tries to get everyone on the same side. His famous Irish temper flairs on occasion if someone manages to irk him enough.
